Brentwood Residence

Los Angeles, CA
7,650 sf new construction
A modern residence in Los Angeles' Brentwood neighborhood for a young family of four. The design for this house had to conform to the irregular shape of the lot and local zoning regulations, resulting in a straightforward plan that opens up as much as possible to the surrounding landscaping. The clients desired a home rich in natural elements, featuring 18” wide old-growth European oak wood floors and natural stone walls. They also wanted to maximize the connection between the living areas and the mature landscaping outside, flooding the house with natural light on all levels. The design prioritizes a flexible lifestyle, seamlessly transitioning between indoor and outdoor spaces.

The upper floor predominantly houses the primary suite, which occupies nearly half of the space. This suite includes two spacious walk-in closets and a generously sized bedroom with an adjoining bathroom that opens onto a private balcony overlooking the backyard. On the opposite side of the upper floor, you'll find two additional bedrooms, each with its own private bathroom and a shared balcony on the west side of the residence.

The main living level encompasses extra guest rooms, a well-appointed chef's kitchen, a convenient butler's pantry, a formal dining room, and a spacious living area that effortlessly connects to the backyard through a full-height operable glass wall.
