1,800 sf remodel + addition
A comprehensive remodel
and addition to a 100 year old craftsman in dire need of some love. Our clients, who had been living in this home for several years, cherished its location but longed for a more spacious and functional living space to accommodate their young family. As the proprietors of several local restaurants, it was clear to us that transforming the kitchen would be the ideal starting point. Our proposal involved relocating the kitchen to the rear of the house, seamlessly opening it up to the new deck, complete with a commercial-grade pizza ovenFrom there, we embarked on a comprehensive reconfiguration of the main living areas. This redesign facilitated the creation of a formal dining room, a generously sized pantry, and a convenient powder room. A second level was added, featuring a primary suite that overlooks the old-growth elm tree canopy in the front and two kids' bedrooms positioned at the rear of the house.
The second floor extends out over the front of the main level, allowing for the incorporation of a covered porch at the main entry and a private balcony off the primary bedroom, offering some added relief to the façade of the building.
